The Annihilator

about

Capel tore out of the impound lot so fast that the Annihilator's tires didn't stop leaving thick black stripes on the pavement until she and Koto were two blocks away -- the former with her foot to the floor, and the latter holding onto the door handle and screaming.
"PLEASE NEVER DRIVE ME ANYWHERE AGAIN!!!" he begged her.

The address was across town, and while the freeways might get her there, Capel knew a shortcut. It would require cutting straight through town, but if she stuck to alleys and less used streets, and didn't take her foot off the throttle, she could get them there in time.

She'd be cutting it close, but if they could enter the building without getting out of the car, that would shave off a few valuable seconds, and she knew just how to do that. After all, she'd spent time on those rooftops.
